*I admire her stance and…
*I smiled back at her, but feeling a little nervous as her eyes stuck to me.* Well, I had to get the place redone. *I shifted in my seat as my fingers began to do a dance of their own.* That was not the first time someone entered my space unannounced and redecorated to their own liking. *I shifted my eyes back to hers only to become trapped in a gaze.*
Without thinking, her hand shot out and gently covered his, stilling his dancing fingers. “I know. Joker is an idiot. Always has been. I like what you’ve done with the place though.” She says with a grin, removing her hand and ignoring the strange tingles shooting up her arm as she takes another long drink. She felt a long night on the horizon.

*I admire her stance and her curvature, most of what she had said to me was a blur. I could only remember…
*I smiled coyly as I walked away, quickly picking up on her response.* Well you of all people should know that this nest was never one to be filled easily. *Pouring the drink I continue to go through in my mind what would come of their, if I dare say, relationship. It would be nice to have her as I did in the past, but to have her once more as a friend would be nice as well.* So tell me, what brings you to my oh so lonely nest? *My nerves begin to settle, slightly, as I hand her the drink and motion for her to sit.*
Taking the offered seat, she sinks down, taking a soft sip from her drink. He always knew just how to mix them. She smiles coyly against her glass at his words. “I saw you were home. I haven’t been back here, to the apartment, since the accident. So. I figured I’d stop by. Perhaps I was checking up on you.” She said with a grin, winking a bit as she took another swig.

*I admire her stance and her curvature, most of what she had said to me was a blur. I could only remember what was or is? Could the past be not only a remembrance but with all it entails…
*I watched her reaction, bitterly enjoying her pain but yet wanting to be the one for her.* Birds always fly back after the winter has ended. *I watched as she became confused, but in all I knew she understood.* I am sorry. *I plainly said as I looked down to the floor once more. She was always looking for love, searching for something that was never to be found. I took off my hat and shifted my hair out of my face and off to the side.* Would you care for a drink, my dear? *I was never good with emotions, always seemed to turn them into equations, and this conversation would only go south if I continued to drill.*
He was mocking her. This much she was sure of. She felt the bitter heat of an embarrassed flush threatening to pink her cheeks, but she wouldn’t allow it. Instead, she held her head high and crossed her arms tightly over her chest. “Perhaps this bird will be unappeased to find that his nest is empty.” She commented back, well-aware that he would know what she meant. At the mention of a drink, a soft smile broke over her cheekbones.
“That sounds like just the fix.”

*I admire her stance and her curvature, most of what she had said to me was a blur. I could only remember what was or is? Could the past be not only a remembrance but with all it entails a premonition of the future?* I.. Uh.. *My brain was gearing faster than I could…
*I bowed my head slightly as I broke the stare.* And… *I sucked in my bottom lip, releasing it as I looked back up to her.* Where is your beloved? *I had heard rumors of Hugo’s departure, but rumors are none too reliable.*
Part of her wanted to respond with a snarky reply such as ‘Right in front of me, jackass.’ yet she stopped herself. She was proud of her mental restraint tonight. Her shoulders tensed a bit, and she cracked her neck to the side slightly as pain flickered across her face. “He wasn’t my beloved. He left. Like the rest of them.” She shrugged, releasing her body again as she hugged herself. She was tired of running but finally, had no where to run to.

Could the past be not only a remembrance but with all it entails a premonition of the future?* I.. Uh.. *My brain was gearing faster than I could spit out the words I needed to say to her. But my eyes finally reached it’s destination, her eyes.* So, how many lives do you have left, my dear? *The subject of Hugo bittered my tongue.*
She watches him watching her and knows that the gears in his mind are working in overdrive. She can’t match his wit, but from their years together as friends and their months as a bit more, she knows him well. His eyes light on hers and she allows her gaze to bore into his, pinning him to his spot. “I’m not sure. I’m getting pretty low…” Her words trail off, silently telling him that Hugo isn’t in the picture. That he was a mistake, like Robin.
She can’t bring herself to say the words outloud for she doesn’t think he’ll believe them.
Why would he?
She was known as a slut, so why shouldn’t she be?
It has come to my attention,
that I have a few impostors of my own lingering around this place. Not that I blame them, who wouldn’t want to be me.
Edward?
Se- *Clears throat* Selina? *I straighten up, feeling a shift of comfort.* How have you been?
She adjusts her own posture at his distress. A part of her wants to run to his arms, but instead, she remains standing still, a hand on her hip. “I’ve been better. But I’ve got nine lives. I’ll be fine.” She wants to ask him how he’s been since she saw him storm out on Harley, but doesn’t.

Oh, Harls…
